William H. Baker, Jr.
Partner, Enrolled Agent
Bill Baker has provided tax planning, preparation, and representation services for 26 years as an enrolled agent. He still calls the Sierra Nevada mountain range “home,” although he and his family moved to the metropolis of Bishop, California when he was 13 years old.
After graduating from Bishop Union High School, Bill earned a BA in business at San Diego State University, and soon after became a restaurant manager at the Old Spaghetti Factory. He later worked as a loan officer for First Security Mortgage, a position he held six years before dabbling in commercial real estate for Hawkeye Realty.
In 1993, Bill, his wife Tricia, and their four children relocated to Flagstaff, Arizona where Bill joined his father’s accounting and tax preparation business, WHBaker & Co., providing bookkeeping services and financial reporting for the Salvation Army Unit. In 2000, he assumed full financial and operating responsibility for a local bookstore in Flagstaff, and dramatically increased the business’s inventory. After ten years working with his father, Bill became CFO at Agra-Technologies where he managed the company’s accounting and financial operations.
By 2007, Bill had acquired the experience and expertise needed to begin his own accounting business in Flagstaff—Granite Mountain Accounting and Tax Preparation. In 2015, son in-law Daniel Wilson joined the team and together they began Granite Mountain Accounting, LLC in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
In his spare time, Bill finds joy in outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, camping, and hunting. He has backpacked through the Sierra Mountains in his home state of California, the Rockies, the Grand Canyon, and most mountain regions across Arizona. He enjoys working with his wife Tricia, son in-law Daniel, and two daughters Ashley and Rachael, and is grateful for the opportunity to use his experience and expertise as an enrolled agent to provide accounting services to his many clients.
