Bob Johnson
Partner, Certified Public Accountant
Bob Johnson was born in Clovis, New Mexico but moved to Tucumcari with his family before entering junior high school. As a teenager, Bob worked at a motel where he recalls watching his supervisor manage the company’s finances. This experience, along with taking up a bookkeeping class in high school, later inspired Bob to study accounting at New Mexico State University.
While in college, Bob was hired at a local accounting firm then known as Kriegel & Co. Upon graduating from NMSU in 1977 with a BA in accounting, Bob began working for the First National Bank of Doña Ana County where he held the position of Senior Vice President for 22 years. During this time, Bob also earned his CPA license.
In 1999, Bob became a partner at Fristoe, Johnson & Company before launching his own CPA firm in 2003, offering financial planning, tax, and accounting services. In 2020, Bob sold the practice and merged Johnson Financial Services, Inc. with Granite Mountain Accounting where he now oversees the West Hadley Ave office. In his current position, Bob most enjoys helping those seeking financial planning services and gaining the trust of his clients.
In his spare time, Bob enjoys photography, woodworking, and traveling, and currently serves as an elder for the University Church of Christ. Bob and his wife Paula find joy in taking trips across the country in their RV and plan on visiting The Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park on their next adventure.
